Victoria & Atlas is designed to be used with parent or guardian involvement.

Victoria & Atlas is designed around an adult-controlled account model.

Parents or guardians may create accounts and, where available, create profiles for children within those accounts.

Account information may include:

• parent or guardian name
• email address
• account credentials
• subscription information
• customer-support communications
• account preferences

Children should not create independent adult accounts.

Depending on the features a parent chooses to use, we may collect information such as:

• child’s first name or nickname
• age or age range
• selected character template or characteristics
• interests
• favorite characters
• story preferences
• feelings or situations selected for personalized experiences
• favorites
• reading history
• keepsakes
• activities or progress

We encourage parents to provide only the information reasonably necessary to use the requested feature.

Unless required for a specifically disclosed feature and handled in accordance with applicable law, Victoria & Atlas is not designed to ask children to independently provide information such as:

• full legal name
• home address
• personal email address
• telephone number
• precise geographic location
• school name
• social-media usernames
• photographs or videos identifying the child
• open-ended contact information

Parents should contact us if they believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate parental involvement.

Parents may optionally provide information about their child to personalize stories and other experiences.

For example, a parent may provide a nickname, age range, selected character template, interests, favorite Victoria & Atlas character, or a situation the child is experiencing.

We use this information to provide the requested personalized experience and related functionality.

Available character and personalization options are determined by Bright Nest Play.

We do not treat the selection or absence of a particular character option as a statement regarding a child’s identity, family, beliefs, or lifestyle.

Certain Victoria & Atlas features may use artificial intelligence or automated systems to assist with personalized stories, illustrations, recommendations, narration, activities, or other experiences.

Information submitted by a parent for personalization may be processed by service providers that help us generate or deliver the requested experience.

We seek to minimize the amount of children’s personal information provided to these systems and limit its use to purposes necessary to provide and operate Victoria & Atlas.

We do not intend children’s personal information submitted for personalization to be used for unrelated advertising or marketing.

When Victoria & Atlas is accessed, certain technical information may be collected automatically.

Depending on the technologies used, this may include:

• browser type
• device type
• operating system
• general network information
• pages or features accessed
• session information
• crash information
• performance information
• authentication and security information

We use this information to operate, secure, maintain, understand, and improve the Service.

Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child, Victoria & Atlas will seek appropriate parental consent before that collection occurs.

Parents may be required to complete an age or parental verification process for certain features.

We may take reasonable steps to verify that the individual making a request is the child’s parent or legal guardian.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the feature or service for which it was collected, maintain legitimate operational requirements, comply with applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Service.

We do not intend to retain children’s personal information indefinitely simply because storage is technically available.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete or de-identify it according to our retention practices and applicable law.

Bright Nest Play does not sell children’s personal information.

We do not intend to directly store complete payment-card information when payments are processed by an external payment provider.

No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Victoria & Atlas may use third-party service providers for infrastructure, authentication, databases, payments, email, analytics, content generation, audio, security, and other functionality.

We seek to select and configure services used within child-directed experiences appropriately for those environments.

Our service providers may change as Victoria & Atlas develops.

Parent-directed portions of Victoria & Atlas may contain links to external websites or services.

External websites operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

Where appropriate, links that take a child outside the Victoria & Atlas experience may be placed behind a grown-up or parental gate.

Victoria & Atlas may be offered to schools, childcare providers, educators, or other institutions.

Additional privacy terms, agreements, or consent requirements may apply to institutional accounts.

Where an institution provides access to Victoria & Atlas, information may also be handled according to the applicable agreement between Bright Nest Play and that institution.

If you believe personal information was collected from your child in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, or you want us to review or delete information associated with your child, please contact us.
